Christopher Louis Bosio (born April 3 1963) is a American professional baseball pitcher as well as pitching instructor. He was a player in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners from 1986 until 1996. He was listed as 6’3 inches (1.91 m) and 250 pounds (102 kg) and both batted and threw right-handed. Bosio was an assistant pitching coach in MLB in The Brewers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Chicago Cubs, and Detroit Tigers.
As of 1987, Bosio recorded an eleven-game record and a 5.24 ERA in 46 appearances (19 starts). His record dropped to 7-15 in 1988 in which he played 38 games (22 games) with an 3.36 ERA. On April 22, 1993, Bosio was the second pitcher in Mariners’ history to pitch a no-hitter, when he retired 27 straight Boston Red Sox batters after walking the first two. The last out was made when shortstop Omar Vizquel bare-handed a high chopper over the mound by Ernest Riles and threw him out. It stood as the most recent no-hitter for the Mariners until the team’s six-pitcher effort against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 8, 2012, as well as the most recent no-hitter by a single Mariners pitcher until Félix Hernández’s perfect game on August 15, 2012. On June 25, 1993, Bosio made the only non-pitching appearance of his career, entering a game against the Chicago White Sox as a pinch runner for Bret Boone; he did not have a plate appearance. Manager Lou Pinella inserted Bosio in the game to qualify as an appearance, so Bosio could subsequently start serving a pending suspension for his involvement in a brawl. With the 1993 Mariners, Bosio appeared in 29 games (24 starts), compiling a 3.45 ERA and a 9–9 record.
Bosio earned his MLB debut on the 3rd of August 1986, in a game against the Texas Rangers. Bosio pitched for three innings of relief, surrendering 3 hits, and 1 hit with one strikeout Pete Incaviglia. He played the Brewers for 10 games (four starts) for the 1986 Brewers having an 7.01 ERA and an 0-4 record.

Bosio was a student at Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, California, and Sacramento City College. He was the first player to be chosen by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 29th round of the 1981 MLB draft, however he didn’t make a decision to sign. He was then selected by the Milwaukee Brewers subsequently selected him in the second round of the 1982 MLB draft’s second phase, that was held in January. He was signed by Milwaukee Brewers in June of 1982.
Bosio was a part of Milwaukee’s farm program during the 1982 and 1985 seasons as well as a portion of 1986, the year that marked Bosio’s MLB debut.
