Chris Abbott (born October 24 in 1983) is a Canadian pro ice hockey athlete who played for HV71 from the SHL and is currently the director for Rogle BK. The twin of Chris Abbott Cam Abbott, who was also a professional player, is currently the head coach of Rogle BK, and they played on various teams.
For the season 2016-17, Abbott was selected as captain of the team in that final season of his HV71 contract. He scored six points over the course of 28 games, and scored 6 points in seven post-season games in helping lead HV71 to their fifth Le Mat trophy. One week after winning victory in the Championship, Abbott was not offered a new contract by HV71 and was released as an unrestricted free agent.
Abbott was in the slam team of Lulea HF for six seasons with the club, serving as captain for the last three seasons before he resigned as a free agent sign a two-year deal at his third SHL club HV71 on 21 April 2015.

Abbott was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Abbott played for the collegiate team of Cornell University of the ECAC from 2002 to 2006. Abbott became a professional during the 2006-07, first playing in the ECHL with the Stockton Thunder and Las Vegas Wranglers before landing a spot for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League.
In the 2007-08 season , he decided to pursue his European career. He was signed with the Frisk Asker Tigers of the Norwegian GET-ligaen. After a single season, he decided to join the Swedish league and signed with his team Rogle BK team of Elitserien. After a fantastic season at RBK, Chris, together with Cameron, his brother Cameron was signed to the two-year deal with the rivals Lulea HF.
On July 12, 2017, Abbott officially announced his retirement through injury.
