She would have been able to defend the IBA world Junior. lightweight championship for the very first time the 28th of December 2002, versus Layla McCarter in Savannah. The promoters were unable to find a suitable opponent, so McCarter chose to continue fighting as scheduled however, the IBA determined that it was an additional non-title bout. Next, Hallback faced the ex-welterweight champ Mitzi Jeter twice in a row, beating her each time by six round unanimous decisions. On May 31, 2003, she met Britt Van Buskirk, winning by a six round decision, and Brenda Drexel for a fourth time, defeating Drexel by a six round decision.
Her luck ran out, however, when she moved up 10 pounds and 2 weight classes to meet Mary Jo Sanders on May 20, 2004, for the IBA continental Jr. Welterweight title, when she lost a ten round decision to the much bigger Sanders.
The year 1999 was her best, and she had one fightthat was the title defense not being defended. Hallback was a contender for her second title in the world and that of the IFBA World Jr. lightweight championship, when she fought Doris Hackl on April 26 in 2000 in Kenner, Louisiana. Hallback did not win the title after losing the title in a 10-round majority decision against Hackl. A lot of people who watched the fight, including TV commentators, believed Hallback was able to take the win. Her next fight was crucial, as she fought Laura Serrano on July 8 in 2001 , in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hallback started her professional career in boxing on the 21st of February 1997, when she defeated Connie Plosser by a first round knockout in Miami. In only her second boxing match, Hallback faced Lucia Rijker who was widely regarded as the top female boxer pound-for-pound that time. Hallback lost to Rijker on the 22nd of March losing via a fifth-round technical knockout. Even though she lost the fight, Hallback gave Rijker some issues before her expertise and conditioning edge prevailed.
