Atapattu Mudiyanselage Jayangani (born on February 9, 1990) is a Sri Lankan cricketer and the present female captain for the Twenty20 International team of Sri Lanka. She was briefly as head of the Sri Lanka women’s team, and was replaced by the captain before her, Shashikala Siriwardene. Chamari served as the 10th captain of Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team. They won only one ODI with 13 defeats. She was awarded as the Female Cricketer of the Year during the season 2016-17 in Sri Lanka Cricket’s annual awards.
On September 29, 2019 In the very initial WT20I fixture against Australia Atapattu scored her debut century for WT20I cricket. At the beginning of January, 2020 she was selected as captain of Sri Lanka’s team for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. She was the top scorer with Sri Lanka in the tournament having scored 154 runs across four games.
In October she was appointed captain of Sri Lanka’s team in the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies. Prior to the event, she was announced among the teams to observe. She was the top run-scorer of Sri Lanka in the tournament with 59 runs over three games.
