Carlos Akapo Martinez, born 12 March 1993, is a professional Equatoguinean footballer who plays as a right back and central defender for Spanish club Cadiz FC.
Akapo joined Valencia CF on 6 August 2014. He was assigned to the reserve level of the third level. After two seasons of relative play, Akapo was assigned to the third level of division 2 after signing a three-year contract with SD Huesca.
On 20 June 2019, after suffering immediate relegation, Akapo signed a three- year contract with Cádiz CF of the second tier. As Akapo was a free agent, Cádiz CF didn’t paid for the transfer.
Akapo signed a 2-year contract with Segunda Division side CD Numancia on 11 July 2013. His first professional game was 25 August when he played in a home victory over Real Jaen 4-2.

Akapo was born to an Equatoguinean mother and a Spanish father in Elche, Province Of Alicante. After playing youth football with four clubs (including Elche CF and Hercules CF), Akapo joined Huracan Valencia CF to complete his formation. He made his senior debut on 22 January 2012 against RCD Mallorca B.
In late August 2012 Akapo got his first call from Equatorial Guinada for a qualifying match in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations against Congo DR. He didn’t leave the bench during the 0-4 defeat, but made his debut in a friendly match with Togo on 5 June 2013.
Akapo was regularly used in the following campaigns, and contributed with 20 appearances in 2017–18 as the club achieved a first-ever promotion to La Liga. He made his debut in the competition on 25 September 2018, replacing Luisinho in a 0–3 loss at Atlético Madrid.
