Cao Yong is one of the most popular and richest Painter who was born on June 9, 1962 in Xin, China. Cao Yong is a Chinese artist whose works depict Tibet. The paintings he created were displayed in Beijing in 1989 after he spent a year in Tibet alone. The Chinese Authorities arrested him and destroyed seven of his paintings. He fled to Japan with his fiancée Aya Goda.
He produced “Voice of the East” in 2008. The Olympic committee selected the painting to be printed on china and used as a gift for VIPs attending the Olympics. Cao created “Love without borders” for the Sichuan earthquake.
Cao created an oil painting called “We The People” in commemoration to the 2005 Federal Constitution memorial day. He was awarded the 2006 Inspiration Award by the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) in 2006.

After a private exhibition in Beijing, he moved to Japan in 1989. While he was busy with wall painting production in the commerce space, he continued to produce “The Split Layer of Earth- Mount Kailas” series. In 1991, he produced aqua fantasy measuring 60 x 4 m in Yokosuka Daiei. In 1993, he produced dragons measuring 50 x 8 m at Ise Bunkamura. He held a private exhibit in 1992 at the O ART Museum Tokyo.
Cao travelled to the United States in 1994 and held a private show at Synchronicity Space, New York SOHO. Cao Yong Editions Inc was established in Los Angeles in 1999. He produced “Freedom” for the 9/11 anniversary. “Free- Freedom”, which was awarded Artist of the Year 2002, received a letter from the Los Angeles Fire Department thanking him for his efforts (from a total 118 stations).
The Forest Lawn Museum located at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California has showcased a retrospective of acclaimed Chinese immigrant Cao Yong’s original oil paintings that explore his own, highly personal journey to Tibet, Japan, India, Nepal, China, Cairo, France, Italy and the United States over a 30-year period. “Art Without Boundaries” by Cao Yong, Citizen of the World will be showing from July 27, 2017 – December 14, 2017.
