Bruno Arthur Barreiro Jr. (born on December 14 1965) is a Republican politician from Florida. He was a member of the Miami-Dade County Commission from 1998 to 2018, and was a representative of a part of Miami Beach and the Miami neighborhoods of Brickell, Little Havana, Coral Way, and West Flagler. He quit in March of 2018 to contest the district that Florida’s 27th Congress district will be in the 2018 election.

On March 31st, 2018 Barreiro announced that he was resigning the County Commission seat to run for Congress in the wake of changes to Florida’s resign-to run law. Barreiro scheduled his resignation in time to ensure that a special election could be held and his wife Zoraida could be able to win his seat. Bruno utilized more than $95,000 of his personal campaign funds to aid Zoraida however Zoraida fell short in the special election in June against Democratic Candidate Eileen Higgins.

In May of 2017, Barreiro announced he would be running for the 27th congressional district of Florida in the 2018 presidential election following the announcement of his incumbent Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen announced that she would be retiring.
