Brent Regner (born May 17 1989) is an Canadian pro-ice hockey player. He currently plays with EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). He previously played with the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Florida Panthers. Regner was picked to the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 5th round (137th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

After signing an entry-level deal by the Blue Jackets in the off-season, Regner turned professional with the Blue Jackets’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate The Syracuse Crunch, in 2009-10. Regner scored 19 points in 56 games during his AHL rookie season. Regner moved teams later in the season, as The Blue Jackets changed their AHL affiliate to the Springfield Falcons in the summer. In the same scoring style Regner scored 20 points over 50 games for the Falcons.

After the two seasons spent primarily within the St. Louis Blues AHL affiliations, Regner was signed to a one-year, two-way NHL contract with the Blues on July 1, 2014.

On July 1, 2015, Regner left the Blues as a free agent to sign a two-year, two-way contract with the Florida Panthers.

In Regner’s second WHL year, Regner improved to 47 points over 72 games. The Giants did not retain the Memorial Cup title, losing in the second round of WHL playoffs against the Spokane Chiefs. Regner scored 10 points over the 10 games of playoffs. The offseason was when he got selected as the 5th round’s 137th player from the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

After two years of hockey for midgets with the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers, Regner began his junior debut during the 2005-06 season. He played in one game for his team, the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL) as well as playing in five games for the Fort Saskatchewan Traders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. In the next season, he scored 6 points over 64 games while a rookie for the Giants. Regner also scored six points during 22 playoff matches, guiding to take the Giants reach their first President’s Cup Finals, where they fell to the Medicine Hat Tigers in seven games. Despite losing they Giants made it to winning the 2007. Regner’s record was not long-lasting when Kevin Connauton scored 72 points in the 2009-10 season.

A free agent following the completion of his entry-level contract with the Blue Jackets, Regner was signed to a one-year American League contract with the Peoria Rivermen on September 17, 2012.
