Brent Richard Pease (born October 8th 1964) is a American football coach as well as a former player. He was hired in the year 2018 by the University of Montana as the assistant coach and the wide receivers’ coach. He was an offensive coordinator for UTEP as well as an assistant coach for wide receivers at the University of Washington and the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at Florida’s University of Florida.
In February of 1991, Pease became the first quarterback chosen in the World League of American Football draft by the Birmingham Fire. After the 1991 season as a semi-time player in the Fire, Pease spent 1992 as a backup quarterback to Reggie Slack for the New York/New Jersey Knights. To the left of Pease as the No. 3 quarterback was the future NFL second-string quarterback Doug Pederson.
In 2006, Pease became wide receivers coach at Boise State, adding the title of assistant head coach the following year. In December 2010, Pease was named offensive coordinator at Indiana University. However, he returned to Boise less than two weeks later, succeeding Bryan Harsin as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator.
Following the 2011 season, Pease was hired by the Florida Gators as their new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Since joining the Gators as offensive coordinator, the team has not ranked in the top 100 teams in terms of pass offense or scoring offense. Following the 2013 season, and after losing to Florida State University 7–37, Pease and UF parted ways.
Pease started his career as a coach competing with the World League as an offensive assistant coach at his school of choice, Montana, in the autumn of 1991. He stayed for five seasons in this role, instructing quarterbacks, runningbacks, and wide receivers. In 1995 the Grizzlies took home the Division I championship of NCAA. the quarterback Dave Dickenson, tutored by Pease earned the Walter Payton Award. He also received Big Sky Conference MVP honors. The following year, the new director of football Mick Dennehy promoted him to offensive coordinator, which that he held for three years. He quit Montana in 1999 and joined Jerome Souers’ staff at Northern Arizona as the assistant head offensive coordinator, coach and coach for quarterbacks.

In Moscow, Idaho, Pease was raised at Mountain Home and played quarterback at Mountain Home High School, where his father Rich was the head coach. Following graduation in 1983 Pease enrolled at Walla Walla Community College, an institution for juniors in Washington. Pease participated in just two games in his first season before becoming the Warriors starting quarterback when he was an freshman in the year 1984. Pease was transferred into Montana’s University of Montana in 1985 and was named the primary quarterback when he became an senior in the year 1986.
Pease was chosen with the Minnesota Vikings in the eleventh round of the 1987 NFL Draft. He was released , and then selected with Houston Oilers. Pease was the offensive coordinator at Kentucky under head coach Guy Morriss from 2001 through 2002. While at Kentucky, Pease coached future NFL quarterbacks Jared Lorenzen and Shane Boyd. He then served as the offensive coordinator at Baylor under Morriss from 2003 to 2005.
