Boebie Solomons is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on March 22, 1955 in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Abubakaar “Boebie” Solomons (born 22 March 1955 in Cape Town) is a South African football coach who has been the coach for his last Premier Soccer League club Polokwane City. He is among the few football coaches in the country who have received winners’ medals for both his PSL championship (as an assistant to Gordon Igesund at Santos) as well as the Mvela Golden League (as head coach for Bidvest Wits). He also has been a coach in South Africa at under-20 level.
Solomons did a brief stint at Maritzburg United before being appointed as the head coach at Bidvest Wits, who had recently been dropped into the Mvela Golden League in the beginning of 2005-06’s season. Solomons helped the team achieve being promoted back to the top league during the first season as coach however, he was dismissed in March 2007 following the team’s poor performance. Following brief stints with Black Leopards and Winners Park after which he was back in Santos as Director of Football of the club in November of 2008. Solomons was once more appointed head coach at Santos at the end of July in 2009. Solomons quit Santos in the month of December of 2011 following a poor result.
He joined Bloemfontein Celtic in June 2012 as an assistant coach to Clinton Larsen before being appointed as head coach of Polokwane City in October 2013. Solomons was fired on 1 September 2014 after string of poor results in the 2014–15 Premier Soccer League campaign.

Solomons began coaching after his retirement from the sport, as well as joining the coaching team at Santos for the first time in latter part of the 1980s. He was appointed head coach in 1998. became the director of coaching for the South Africa under-20 team. Then, he became a part of Santos as a coach in the year 1999 and initially was an assistant coach for youth, before being involved in his coaching role for the seniors squad in 2000. He was appointed the club’s coach-in-charge on several occasions, including in 2002, when the team took home the BP Top Eight Cup, after which he was appointed the permanent manager in the year 2003 after departure of Muhsin Ertugral. He then led Santos to victory in the ABSA Cup, where Santos beat Ajax Cape Town 2-0. He was dismissed because of the team’s performance during the CAF Confederation Cup.

Solomons got appointed head coach at Cape Town All Stars in September 2014, replacing Dylan Deane. Boebie resigned at Cape Town All Stars ahead of the 2015/2016 National First Division season and were appointed head coach at Milano United. Milano United and Boebie Solomons parted ways in April 2017 and Solomons as appointed Technical Director at FC Cape Town
