Robert (Bob) “Bobby” Ursel (born on 12 February 1965) is a Canadian player and coach in curling. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ursel curls in Kelowna, British Columbia.
Following his 2003 Brier, Ursel left the Ryan team to start an own group. He participated at his 3rd Brier in 2008, but his team lost in a 3-4 game against the Ontario’s Glenn Howard.
He is the coach of Japanese men’s team, who won gold at the 2018 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships.
It was after 15 years after junior when Ursel was able to make an appearance in the Brier. He was a third player for Bert Gretzinger’s 1998 British Columbia team. They went 5-6. In 2002, Ursel changed to playing the third position for Pat Ryan where he made the 2003 Nokia Brier. In 2003, at the Brier the team fell in the semi-finals against Nova Scotia (skipped by Mark Dacey).
