Bigga Haitian is one of the most popular and richest Human Rights Activist who was born on November 4, 1964 in Port-au-Prince, Ouest Department, Haiti. Charles Andre Dorismond (born November 4 1964) more popularly known as his stage moniker Bigga Haitian is an Haitian music producer and an artist who gained fame in the 90s. He is regarded as “the first Haitian singer to break into the Jamaican reggae scene” and was instrumental in tearing down barriers to culture and nationalism and opening the way for new generations of Haitian artists. Today’s most gifted Haitian artists, including Wyclef Jean, and Mecca Grimo, also known as Grimo and Mecca aka Grimo, cite Bigga for his influence.

in 2002 Bigga made his debut album available, Binghi Mon. The title track was inspired by the racist profiling of Rastafarians as well as other groups following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Also known as “The Osama Tune,” it screams against violence, slamming the Taliban as well as Osama bin Laden.

Her brother Patrick Dorismond was killed by members of the New York Police Department on March 16th in 2000. Bigga paid tribute to memories of his deceased brother by releasing “Tribute to Patrick Dorismond” which was that was released as seven” single from Jah Life Int’l Records and later on the album Bigga released in 2003, Binghi Mon. A revered reggae singer Barrington Levy donated his song “Murderer” to serve as the foundation to the tune. “Tribute” was produced by Jah Life who also recorded”Tribute,” which was the initial Barrington Levy recording.

born Charles Dorismond in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Bigga hails from an musical family. The father of Bigga’s, Andre Dorismond, was the singer-lead of the Webert Sicot Group, pioneers of Haitian dance music, also known in the form of compas (kompa). Bigga moved to New York City at the age of eight and was raised amid the beats that pulsate in reggae in the lively Jamaican population in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Bigga realized that his destiny was to be a reggae performer after witnessing Admiral Bailey perform his hit track “Big Belly Man” at the Manhattan’s Reggae Lounge in 1987. The moment came when reggae superstar Bigga Haitian’s name was announced.

Bigga made his debut song, “Haiti A Weh Mi From” (Flames Records) in 1989. The song reached the top spot in the Haitian charts and is a constant feature of Haitian radio until today. Bigga’s first full album, 1997’s I Am Back (Royal Productions/Jomino/Roots International), features a remix of this dancehall anthem.

In 2006, Bigga signed with his current label, New York-based independent, Walkup Records. Several years earlier, Walkup co-founder Marc Lawrence had signed Bigga to a publishing deal with another company. In February 2006, Lawrence brought Bigga to Walkup’s other co-founder Brett Smith’s home studio to demo some new songs. Smith and Lawrence recognized the potential in the reggae veteran’s material and signed him immediately. In an interview with Skope Magazine, Bigga offered high praise for his new label, “After twenty years of making reggae music, just now, I feel that I’m in the music business because of these guys’ professionalism.”
