Beverly “Bev” D. Mackereth (nee Ehrlich) (born on January 27, 1958) was an ex- Pennsylvania Secretary for Public Welfare. She was also an elected Member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. She was a member of the state’s 196th legislature district of York County, Pennsylvania and is an active part of the Republican Party.
Mackereth graduated in 1979 from Frostburg State University. After graduation, she worked in the York County Blind Center. Then she was a supervisor for York County Children and Youth Services as well as an official of the victim witness program for the York County Attorney’s office. In 1997 the Governor Tom Ridge appointed her Deputy Director of the Governor’s Community Partnership for Safe Children.
From 2011 until 2015, Mackereth served as Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in the cabinet of Governor Tom Corbett.
