Bayard Elfvin is one of the most popular and richest American goalkeeper who was born on February 1, 1981 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, United States. Elfvin led Div. II Ashland University to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 2001. As a four-year starting player, Elfvin was a two-time All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) player of the Eagles. He ended his stay as the school’s career leader in shutouts (14) and goals-against-average (1.23). His career record was of 31-12-2. In his final year in Ashland, Elfvin posted a record of 7-1-2. He scored only eight goals, which is the most in school history. He also notched four shutouts while recording a goals-against-average of 0.86 and 40 saves.

Elfvin has been a part of the U.S. Beach Soccer Team in both World Cups 2006, 2007.

In 2004 Elfvin made his debut in the professional game as a professional when he signed to the Portland Timbers of the USL First Division. Elfvin played just two games for the Timbers during his debut season, registering two shutouts. Then, in 2005, he transferred into his new club, the Virginia Beach Mariners, but returned to Portland during the 2007 and 2006 seasons. In 2006 Elfvin played a record-breaking 502 minutes in just six games and was shut out in the majority all of the matches. Elfvin was twice a USL First Division Team of the week selection in the weeks of Weeks 9 and 18. In 2007 Elfvin was restricted to two games and 135 minutes. He posted an average of 1.33 goal against the average.

Bayard Elfvin (born on February 1st 1981) is a retired American soccer goalie who serves as an assistant coach for the Northwestern University women’ soccer team. Elfvin was a professional player for the USL First Division and the second Major Indoor Soccer League. He was part of the United States national beach soccer team, which played at both the 2007 and 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups.

In 2004 Elfvin was signed by The Cleveland Force of Major Indoor Soccer League. He played at six times in the Force in the 2004-05 season, and came away with a 3-2 score. Elfvin was a target for 93 shots, and made 63 saves, for an average of 6.06 goal-against average. The Force ended up folding at the conclusion of the season. The St. Louis Steamers selected Elfvin in the 2005 MISL Dispersal Draft. Elfvin ended his 2005/06 campaign with a record of 3-3 wins and losses and an average of 3.89 score against the average. In 2006, he was traded with his new team, the California Cougars, logging 497 minutes and stopping 87 out of the 145 shots he was faced with to achieve an .600 saving percentage. The Cougars were unable to recover at the end of the season, and Elfvin was picked for his team, the New Jersey Ironmen in the 2007 Dispersal Draft. In May 2009 Chicago Storm of the Chicago Storm of the Xtreme Soccer League hired Elfvin to replace injured goalie Jeff Richey.

In 2011, Elfvin became an assistant coach with the Northwestern University women’s soccer team.
