Agashe was born on the 21st of October, 1972 to an economically successful Chitpavan brahmin family that includes successful businessman Dnyaneshwar Agashe and his wife Rekha Agashe (nee Gogte). Agashe is the grandson of the industrialist Chandrashekhar Agashe. He has a brother and a sister. His wife was Shalini Phadke who is a descendant of the Patwardhan Dynasty from 1997 to 2013. He received the BCom diploma at Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce in 1994.

He was elected director of Suvarna Sahakari Bank for the year 2004-2005. He was among the directors involved in the Bank’s alleged fraud in 2008. As the managing director of the Syndicate The Syndicate, he was awarded the DSK Group Energy Award of 2007 for the implementation of corporate energy efficiency improvements.

Agashe played cricket at his school at which was the University of Pune, before the state he was from that is Maharashtra at the Ranji Trophy and played for the Maharashtra cricket team from 1997 until 1999. His batting style is right-hander as well as his style of bowling is right-arm medium. He was also a player on List A from 1996 to 2000. Agashe was a member the father’s Maharashtra Cricket Association committee as an official representative of his father’s Maharashtra Cricket Club of Maharashtra.
