Arijan Komazec is one of the most popular and richest Croatian basketball player who was born on January 23, 1970 in Zadar, Croatia. He is the son of Milan Komazec, a former basketball player who was the winner of three Yugoslav First League championships (1965 1967, 1968, and 1965) in the city of Zadar. He has a uncle named Petar Popovic, who was a ex-basketball player. His cousin from his first generation has been Alan Gregov, a former basketball player.

The year began with the goal of winning the championship, Panathinaikos as well as him, was the only time that they won in 1993 the Greek Cup, in a final played against Sato Aris. Komazec, while putting in impressively but did not perform well to Panathinaikos who were trying to win the fling at European level. In the next season (1999–00), he returned to his roots, and he quite unexpectedly was joined in Zadar by Dino Rađa. Together, the duo led the Dalmatian club to the semifinals of the FIBA Saporta Cup, where they lost to the Greek club AEK. They won the Croatian Cup in the same season, which marked the last success of his career.

Komazec was a part of the junior Yugoslavian national squad (1990-92) in the 1990-92 season, as well as in the later years, the junior Croatian national squad. Komazec was member one of Croatian teams that took silver medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics with bronze medals at EuroBasket 1993 and 1995.

Arijan Komazec (born January 23 1970) is a retired Croatian professional basketball player.

Komazec began his professional journey as basketball player at 16 in the historic club of Zadar during his 1986-87 seasons. After his previous campaign, Zadar became champions of the Yugoslav League, and had the privilege of participating at the FIBA European Champions Cup (EuroLeague). Komazec performed admirably and was the team’s leader in the fourth position of the final group stage. In the following six months in Zadar where he was the ultimate leader and the top scorer in his squad, he took the most significant leap in his career with transcribing the Greek League (which was at the time the top at the time in Europe) as well as Panathinaikos with the director Zeljko Pavlicevic as well as the Greek star Nikos Galis. In the process, he met an old friend from the days in Zadar, Stojko Vrankovic, who was just returning after a stint in the NBA.
