Anto Drobnjak is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on September 21, 1968 in Podgorica, Montenegro. Anto Drobnjak (Cyrillic: Anto Drobnjak; born 21 September , 1968) is an Montenegrin professional footballer who was striker. He was among the two leading scorers in the First League of Yugoslavia in 1993, when he was a player with Red Star Belgrade. On the international stage, he was a part of Yugoslavia’s national team during the selection process for 1998’s FIFA World Cup, although the team was not chosen to the team of the nation for the final match.

Between 1996 to the year 1998 Drobnjak had seven cap appearances and was the scorer three times in FR Yugoslavia. His debut came on October 6, 1996, with a 1-8 home win over Faroe Islands under coach Slobodan Santrac during 1998’s FIFA World Cup qualification. On the 24th of February, 1998 Drobnjak was the goal scorer in a 3-1 friendly defeat against Argentina at the Estadio Jose Maria Minella. But, he wasn’t chosen to the Yugoslavian team to play in the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Numerous media outlets were at that time expressing their shock at the absence of Drobnjak from Yugoslavia’s team at this year’s World Cup.

He subsequently moved to Japan and played for Gamba Osaka. After a year, Drobnjak returned to France and joined Sochaux. He also spent one season at Martigues, before retiring in 2002.

Drobnjak served as assistant manager to Branko Brnović at Montenegro from 2011 to 2015.

As a result of International sanctions for Yugoslavia, Drobnjak asked Red Star’s director of sports Dragan Dzajic whether there was an opportunity to leave the team and the country. Dzajic was informed of Bastia’s hunt for a classic center forward, and following discussions with Dzajic, Drobnjak signed a three-year deal for three years with Bastia during 1994. Under the guidance of coach Frederic Antonetti, he spent the next three seasons at Bastia and scored 50 goals in 100 league matches. On May 3, 1995, Drobnjak scored his first goal of the 1995 Coupe de la Ligue Final against Paris Saint-Germain, although it was disallowed by the official. Drobnjak signed a three-year deal with Bastia in the year 1996. In the 1996-97 season Drobnjak was the sixth top goal scoring player in the league. Bastia placed seventh place overall. This meant that Drobnjak was offered a contract by Olympique de Marseille and Lens However, he picked Lens because of Bastia’s fierce Rivalry to Marseille.

Drobnjak was signed by Red Star Belgrade ahead of the 1992-93 season in his time as the league’s top scorer and Vojivodina’s Vesko Mihajlovic. On the 15th of May 1993 Drobnjak scored the decisive goals in the final match of the 1993 Yugoslav Cup, in which Red Star beat Partizan 1-0. The Red Star’s highest goal scorer during the 1993-94 season, alongside his teammate Ilija Ivic. He was also the fifth in goals scored in the league during that time.

In 1997, Drobnjak switched to fellow French club Lens, helping them win the league in his debut season under coach Daniel Leclercq. On 22 August 1997, Leclercq gave Drobnjak the green light to start against Olympique de Marseille in spite of a lingering back injury; Drobnjak went on to score a hat-trick in a 2–3 away win for Lens. On 15 November 1997, he scored a hat-trick in a 5–4 win against AS Cannes. He was the fourth highest goal scorer in the league that season.
