Groovie then earned an education of Plastic Arts and the Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications at Universite Laval prior to pursuing a profession as a designer for commercials at Cossette, Inc. for many years in Montreal which is where she is now living since 1994.
A pro at gymnastics and circus performances, Groovie was selected in 1997 by the World Circus to spend three months in Chile to impart circus-related skills to children on the streets; she was later to Africa for a similar assignment in 2000.
Groovie has been a four-time winner of the Hackmatack Awards, which is awarded to the favourite Canadian children’s books as nominated by readers in Atlantic Canada. She was also the Guest of Honor at the 2010 Salon international du livre de Québec in Quebec City.
