In the year 1991, in tensions of the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination controversy, Blair joined an ad informal group dubbed “Women for Judge Thomas”. Blair along with two other women who were part of the organization, Rosalie (Ricky) Gaull Silberman and Barbara Olson, subsequently co-founded the Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) in 1992.
