Allan Gaarde is one of the most popular and richest Danish former football player who was born on January 25, 1975 in Grindsted, Denmark. Allan Gaarde, a former professional football player from Denmark, was born 25 January 1975. He played 227 games for AaB and scored 48 goals. The club won the 1999 Danish Superliga championship. Before joining Vejle Boldklub, he also played for Udinese Calcio in Italy and Viking FK in Norway.
In spring 2002, he moved back to Aalborg BK and played his last game for Aalborg BK on May 2, 2002. Gaarde was the last Superliga player for the club in June 2005. Gaarde played 227 games in total and scored 48 goals across all competitions for Aalborg KK.
In January 2009, he moved back to Denmark to play for relegation battlers Vejle Boldklub in the Danish Superliga. In his debut game for Vejle, Gaarde was sent off in a 1–1 draw with FC Nordsjælland. He played 11 of the last 16 games of the 2008–09 Superliga, scoring one goal, but Gaarde could not keep Vejle from being relegated at the end of the season. He stayed with the club in the secondary Danish 1st Division, but suffered a knee injury and ended his career in February 2010.

Gaarde was playing four games at Aalborg KK in the UEFA Cup, UEFA Intertoto Cup tournaments. He had also played against Udinese Calcio (an Italian club that could not handle his awkward playing style). Roy Hodgson, Udinese Calcio’s manager, purchased Gaarde in December 2000. On 7 January 2001, he made his Serie A debut against AC Perugia. Gaarde was expelled from Udinese during a match without ever playing. Hodgson left the club soon and Gaarde didn’t find success at Udinese. He was injured and played only eight league games in the Serie A title.

At 22 years old, he became a professional footballer when he signed a contract before 1997-98 Superliga season with Aalborg BK. Gaarde stated that he preferred to play in the midfield position, even though he was signing him to replace Ib Simonsen as a defender. Gaarde made a remarkable debut at Aalborg KK. The club lost a match 2-8 to SC Heerenveen in the 1997 UEFA Intertoto Cup. Gaarde was quickly moved to the middle of the field. Gaarde made his Superliga debut against Odense BK on July 27, 1997. Despite these negatives, Gaarde quickly made a name for himself in the team. He played in 31 of 33 league matches and scored six goals during his first season at Aalborg BK. In October 1998, he played against Vejle Boldklub. This was one of his most memorable games. Aalborg was down 2-2 when Gaarde, a substitute in 60 minutes, came on and scored a hat trick in just nine minutes to help Aalborg win 4-2. In the 1998-99 Superliga season, he played in 31 games and scored eight goals. Aalborg BK won its second club championship. From 1997 to 2000, he played in 109 league games for Aalborg BK and scored 22 goals.
Gaarde was born in Grindsted and began playing football with an amateur club when he was five years old. After playing youth football with Vejle Boldklub at age five, he didn’t like the team atmosphere and quit his dream of a professional soccer career at 16. He played again in amateur football in Grindsted. Gaarde, then 20, was about to embark on an academic education. However, Vejen SF offered him a lower-league Denmark Series club and he decided to rekindle his footballing career. He was promoted to the Danish 2nd Division and was approached by several Danish clubs during the summer 1997.
Gaarde moved to Norwegian club Viking FK, once again playing under Roy Hodgson. Though Hodgson soon left the club, Gaarde was a success at Viking FK, and scored four goals in his first 13 games for the club. He was named team captain. When Gaarde suffered an injury in 2007, fellow Dane Nicolai Stokholm took over the role as captain. Gaarde played a combined total of 136 games and scored 25 goals in all competitions for Viking FK.
