Alison McClure McInnes OBE, a Scottish Liberal Democrat politician, was born 17 July 1957. She was the spokesperson for Health and Justice at the Scottish Parliament as a Scottish Liberal Democrat. She was a member of the Scottish Parliament for North East Scotland from 2007 to 2016, when she lost her seat in the 2016 Scottish Parliament election. McInnes served as a member in Parliament and was also a substitute member for Rural Affairs, Climate Change and Environment Committee.

McInnes was elected to the new Aberdeenshire East constituency in 2011. She finished second to Alex Salmond. She was the leader of the Lib Dem list for North East Scotland and then returned to Holyrood.

In July 2015, McInnes was replaced as the top candidate on the Lib Dem’s regional list for North East Scotland ahead of the 2016 election. In the election the Lib Dems returned one candidate by their North East Scotland regional list, McInnes was not elected.

McInnes was elected to the Scottish Parliament by the party’s regional lists. She stood in Banff, Buchan and finished fourth at the 2007 Scottish Parliament election. McInnes served as the spokesperson for the Scottish Liberal Democrats on climate change issues and was a member the Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change Committee during the 2007-2011 Scottish Parliament. McInnes was also a member in good standing of Cross Party Groups on Oil and Gas, Climate Change, Visual Impairment and Tibet, as well as Civil Liberties.
