Zuhdi Jasser is one of the most popular and richest Military Officer who was born on November 17, 1967 in Ohio, United States. Jasser was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 17, 1967. He is the son of Syrian immigrants who came to America in 1960s to escape repression back home. His grandfather Zuhdi Jasser was a strong Muslim who had a vegetable oil business in Syria. His father, Mohamed Kais Jasser is a cardiologist. He studied medicine in Syria and London in the 1960s. His newspaper columns were a critical tool that led to him migrating with his wife, a pharmacist, from Beirut, Lebanon, to the United States in 1963. Jasser was born in Appleton, Wisconsin and lived there until he reached the age of 6. After his father died, Jasser’s family moved to Neenah in Wisconsin. There, he was raised in Sunni Islam.
Jasser founded the non-profit American Islamic Forum for Democracy in 2003 with a group American Muslims. Their goal was to show the compatibility between Islam and democracy and American values. Jasser serves as the group’s chief spokesperson and president. AIFD supports the separation of religion and government, religious pluralism and equality of the sexes. It also supports the unconditional recognition Israel and the creation of a Palestinian independent state “on the current “occupied territories.” Terrorism and all justifications for it are rejected by the organization.
He was honored in October 2007 by Center for Security Policy as a “Defender of the Home Front” for his anti-Islamist activism. In January 2008 he was presented with the 2007 Director’s Community Leadership Award by the Phoenix office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
In 2007 he formed a statewide Disaster Preparedness Task Force for physicians. He chairs a bioethics committee and teaches nuclear cardiology in Phoenix.
Mother Jones, a progressive magazine, claims that Jasser has recently become the right’s main guy for providing cover for policies and positions that many Muslims believe to be discriminatory. Jasser was a frequent Fox News guest when the controversy surrounding Ground Zero’s mosque erupted. He accused the builders of trying ‘to diminish what happened’ on September 11, 2001. Jasser has supported the statewide banning of Shariah law in American courtrooms and helped to support conservative warnings about American Muslims seeking to replace the Constitution by a strict interpretation of Islamic law. Jasser is viewed by many American Muslim groups as a trustworthy apologist of Republicans and anti-Muslim figures, with very little support from the American Muslim community.
