Zock Alexander Allen, born June 12, 1968, is a former gridiron linebacker for the BC Lions. He also played for the Las Vegas Posse in the Canadian Football League. He played in 27 regular-season games from 1991 to 1994 and recorded 119 tackles. He played college football with the Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas.
The Lions released two linebackers during the offseason. A third was retired, and a fourth was freed from the team. Allen was chosen during training camp to be the last linebacker. Lions coach Dave Ritchie said that “Zock must lead now.” Instead, he was injured in the knee and had to miss practice, the preseason game and the start the regular season. Allen played only two regular-season games for the Lions in 1994. In November 1995, he was released by the Lions and then later joined the Las Vegas Posse. He played in just one game. He signed for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1995, but was released prior to the start of the regular-season.
Allen was an inside linebacker during the 1993 preseason. However, he was cut again to the practice squad prior to the regular season. Allen was quickly reinstated to the active roster, and he recorded five tackles against the Toronto Argonauts in their season-opening victory. Allen played in 15 regular season games for the Lions, his first regular playing time in his professional career. While he played primarily as a middle linebacker while Tyrone Jones was recovering from injury and illness, he also briefly replaced Jones at the outside linebacker position twice. Allen ended the regular season with 67 tackles and two interceptions. He also recovered a fumble. In the Western Semifinal, he also recovered a fumble. However, the Lions lost 9-17 to the Stampeders.

Alondra Johnson and Willie Pless, who were both the BC Lions’ top linebackers in 1990, didn’t return to the team for 1991. To compete for one spot, the BC Lions signed Allen May 1991. Allen made it to the active roster despite sustaining a broken knee in the preseason. Allen struggled in July, August. Lions coach Bob O’Billovich said that Allen was “a step or two behind all the time when it comes to pass coverage”. The Lions made Allen move to the practice squad in August and signed Bruce Holmes, a new signing who had previously led the CFL’s tackles with the Ottawa Rough Riders. Allen ended his rookie season with 31 tackles and two sacks. He also recovered a fumble in six games.
Allen started the 1992 season as a practice squad player while he was recovering from a knee injury. However, he was promoted to the starting lineup in Week 3 and replaced Doug Hocking. The Lions faced the possibility of losing several import players by August. The Lions replaced Allen with Hocking to meet CFL import requirements. Each team must have a minimum number of Canadian players. Allen’s season was limited by an early injury and problems with the import ratio. He only played in three games, where he had 13 tackles. The Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers tried to recruit Allen while he was on the practice squad. However, he refused to leave the Lions.
Allen played college football for the Texas A&M–Kingsville Javelinas, earning letters in 1989 and 1990. He led the team in total tackles with 101 during his senior season in 1990.
