Prime Minister of Nepal KP Oli inaugurated this in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on 17 February 2020. The contract has been given to KI Company Pvt. Ltd. India. This initial step includes the budget of 7 Billion NPR. This project includes the undergrounding of 450 km and 800 km of 11 thousand voltage line supply and 400 voltage line supply respectively. Also 450 km of optical fibres will be undergrounded till October 2021.
