YellOwStaR, who had been successful with SK, left the team in December 2012. Fnatic quickly took YellOwStaR’s place as their AD. This allowed them to reunite with their old teammates, nRated, and sOAZ. His new team was eligible to compete in Riot’s competitive league for Season 3 for NA/EU, the Riot League of Legends Championship Series. However, they were required to compete for a spot in the Season 3 Europe Offline Qualifier. This qualifier he had previously qualified for, while he was playing with SK Gaming. The new team defeated MeetYourMakers by a score of 2-0 to secure a place in the league’s quarterfinals.

YellOwStaR and Fnatic started off their season at the IEM Season VIII – World Championship. The team finished 2nd, losing to KT Rolster Bullets in the Grand Final. The Spring Split went relatively well for YellOwStaR and the team. A tight split saw YellOwStaR perform on a range of champions including Morgana, Annie, and Karma in particular. Fnatic ended the split in 2nd place behind SK Gaming, securing themselves a place in the Spring Playoffs. The whole team raised their game for the playoffs, and they emerged victorious after a win against Alliance in their semifinal matchup, and another against SK Gaming in the Grand Final. Due to Fnatic’s performance in the Spring Playoffs, they had qualified to compete at All-Star Paris 2014, along with other regional winners from around the world. The team made it to the semifinals of the tournament, losing only to the world champions at the time, SK Telecom T1 K. The start of the Summer Split was shaky for YellOwStaR and the team. Fnatic could not break into the top 2 until Week 7 of the split, at which point their main rivals Alliance were already a considerable distance ahead of them in the race for 1st place. YellOwStaR managed to impress with his Thresh and Morgana throughout, picking up the Weekly MVP Award for Week 7, but Fnatic could only manage a 2nd-place finish. His performances on these champions also contributed to YellOwStaR picking up the MVP Award for the entire split. The team aimed to put the split behind them and focus on the Summer Playoffs. A close fought win over ROCCAT in the semifinal meant that YellOwStaR and the team would face Alliance in the final. The match ended in defeat for Fnatic, but the playoffs saw the team seal their qualification for the 2014 Season World Championship. The World Championship saw Fnatic placed in Group C with Samsung Blue, OMG, and LMQ. The team were only able to win 2 matches out of 6 in their group, meaning that they would go no further in the tournament.

They went home with a 5th- 6th place finish. Their next tournament success was at the IEM Season VI – World Championship. They won against SK Gaming and lost to Counter Logic Gaming. This result saw them finish 4th at this event. After months of tension and poor performances at tournaments, YellOwStar, along with his bot lane support partner nRated, decided to leave aAa in June 2012 and return to Millenium for a trial period. After their testing period, YellOwStaR decided to join SK Gaming, a long-established European organization. The team’s first event was European Challenger Circuit in Poland. They beat CLG EU, but managed to defeat Team Curse EU and finish 3rd. YellOwStaR’s team was granted the opportunity to participate in the Season Two Regional Finals in Cologne. The top three teams will be flown to Los Angeles to compete for a $1,000,000 grand award. SK won the finals by a score of 4-0. They defeated CLG Europe and Team Acer Poland. The team faced the relatively new Moscow Five, who have been dominating tournaments since their inception. YellOwStaR’s team couldn’t win a single game, but they placed 2nd overall, earning a spot on the trip to Los Angeles.
