Auxerre won the Coupe de France, which ensured they qualified for the UEFA Cup. Lachuer’s first goal in European competition was scored by Lachuer. This was in addition to the 3 league goals he had collected as Auxerre finished fourth in Ligue 1. They were able to qualify for the UEFA Cup in the second consecutive season. He scored his second ever European goal in 2004-05, this time again in the UEFA Cup. Auxerre won for the second consecutive season the Coupe de France. He made 24 club appearances.

In November 2018, he became the head coach of Romorantin.

Lachuer started his career with US Creteil -Lusitanos in Ligue 2 in 1992-93. He made 31 appearances and scored 5 goals. He was noticed by AJ Auxerre in 1993, who signed him. He made only two appearances on the first team in the subsequent seasons, before a stint with LB Chateauroux during the 1996-97 season. Lachuer was extremely productive during this period, scoring 9 goals in 32 games. After his return to Auxerre, Lachuer continued this vein of form, scoring 7 goals in 28 domestic games. He was involved in 7 UEFA Cup games, but failed to score the goal.

1998-99 saw Lachuer relocate to Paris Saint-Germain FC. He had a disappointing season and failed to live up the expectations he had set for himself the two previous years. He scored one goal in 22 games for PSG and was enough to be transferred to another club at season’s end. The 1998 Trophee des Champion was a highlight for PSG.

2005–06 proved to be Lachuer’s last season with Auxerre. He managed 4 goals in 27 appearances for the club. Lachuer opted not to renew his contract with Auxerre after it expired, preferring instead to pursue his career elsewhere. After considering offers from AS Nancy, OGC Nice, Le Mans UC72, AS Saint- Étienne and clubs in Italy and the United Arab Emirates, he opted to sign a one-year deal with Troyes.
