Xavier Oyekola Adibi (born October 18th 1984) is an American football coach and former player. As defensive coordinator, he is employed at Texas A&M’s University-Commerce which he has held since December 2018. Adibi was a professional player in linebacking for the National Football League (NFL) with the Houston Texans (2008-2010), Minnesota Vikings (2011), Chicago Bears (2012), and Tennessee Titans (2012). After playing football in college with Virginia Tech, he was chosen for the Houston Texans in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Adibi played football in college during his time at Virginia Tech. In redshirt freshman year 2004 Adibi was a backup for Mikal Baquee. He suffered an injury in the game against USC but returned to play on a Thursday night with Georgia Tech in Atlanta. In the game against Georgia Tech, Adibi had an outstanding game, recording eight tackles, with two sacks. Adibi had a crucial game-saving sack during the Georgia Tech fourth quarter scoring drive. Georgia Tech had an opportunity to win the game however Adibi’s sack of Reggie Ball forced a field goal, which kept the game at a single score that Virginia Tech would ultimately rally to take the victory.

In 2006, Adibi finished second on the team in tackles with 82. Following a 17-0 shutout of Virginia, he was honored as the ACC defensive lineman of the week for his performance, which included a forced fumble to set up the first (and winning) touchdown.

Adibi was drafted in the 4th round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. On September 5, 2011, Adibi was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Vikings.

Adibi was a player and student at football in high school in Phoebus High School, located in Hampton, Virginia, and graduated in 2003.
