Jackson was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1971. He was a student at P. K. Yonge High School in Gainesville where he was a an outstanding football player in high school with the P. K. Yonge Blue Wave.

As an sophomore, he racked up the most receptions with 51 (second within the league) with 725 yards, 10 scores (led by a wide margin and was tied for second-highest total in the history of the school). When he played against Auburn University he had career-highs of 12 receptions (tied for second place at any time in the history of school) as well as 157 yards. In the game against his former school, the University of Georgia, he became the fifth player in the history of the school to score three touchdowns during a single game. At the 1993 Sugar Bowl against the University of Notre Dame the team was second in total yards for a player in Gators bowl history. He had 8 receptions and more than 148 yards.

Jackson was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round (109th pick overall) of the 1994 NFL Draft. After being inactive during all of the 1994 season, he asked the team to leave him unprotected in the 1995 NFL Expansion Draft, so he could get an opportunity to play in another place and not be a reserve behind Michael Irvin.

Jackson’s younger brother, Terry Jackson, was a tailback for the Gators from 1995 to 1998, and played running back and special teams for the San Francisco 49ers from 1999 to 2005. His father, Willie Jackson, Sr., led the Gators in all-purpose yards and kick-off returns in the early 1970s, and was one of the team’s first two African-American players at the University of Florida. All three Jacksons wore jersey No. 22 for the Gators.

Jackson was the top player on the team in receiving during 1991 and 1992. He was an all-time First-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) selection in

1992. He also earned the honorable mention All-American in 1991 1992, 1993 and 1991. He was notable for having an impressive 148 yards in receiving during the game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the 1992 Sugar Bowl and 130 yards against the West Virginia Mountaineers in the 1994 Sugar Bowl.

Willie Bernard Jackson, Jr. (born on August 16 1971) is an ex- American professional wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins. He played in the NCAA football tournament in the University of Florida. As a coach for football, He was the coach of wide receivers for the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football (AAF).

Jackson was awarded an athletic scholarship to study at his dream school, the University of Florida in Gainesville and played with Steve Spurrier’s Florida Gators football team from 1990 until 1993. When he was redshirted he played in five games as a freshman, but did not score a touchdown.
