Young first printed only 15 copies of his novel. Two of his closest acquaintances helped him get it published, and helped by editing and revising the manuscript to help prepare the manuscript to be published. After being rejected of 26 publishing houses, Young together with his buddies published his book in the title of their newly formed publication company called Windblown Media, in 2007. The company only spent C$200 on advertising, and word-of-mouth reviews ultimately led to the book being first place on the New York Times trade paperback bestseller list for June of 2008. “The Shack” was the best-selling audiobook and fiction in 2008 in America up to November 30.

Young’s Eve was released on September 15, 2015 by Howard Books.
