Wendy Wyland is one of the most popular and richest Diver who was born on November 25, 1964 in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. Janna Wendy Wyland (November 25 1964 – September 27 23rd, 2003) was a female diver from the United States. Also known by the name Wendy Wyland, she represented her country in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, winning the bronze medal at the Women’s 10m Platform event. The year before she had won the title of world champion in the same competition.

Wyland was born in Jackson, Michigan to parents Vernon and Beth Wyland. The family moved from the city of Penfield, New York, where she was taught diving by Betty Perkins Carpenter since when she was just six years old. At the age of 14years old, she moved into Mission Viejo, California to learn from Hall of Fame coach Ron O’Brien. She participated as a member of the Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving Team. While at Florida Atlantic University at Boca Raton, Florida, Wyland was preparing in the 1998 Olympics in Mission Bay under O’Brien and with teammates Greg Louganis, Michele Mitchell and Kent Ferguson. Wyland was named Swimming World’s World Platform Diver of the Year in the years 1982 and 1983.

She was named on People’s “50 most beautiful people” in 1990 . She was also admitted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 2001.
