On the 9th of December, 2010, it was revealed that the FA has reversed the initial decision to grant Silva the “Special Talent Visa”. The following day, it was revealed on the official Arsenal website that they were planning to release him on loan in light of the fact that Silva was unable to obtain an official work permit.

On 28 February 2010 Silva made his senior debut for Fluminense, starting and scoring the second of a 5–1 home routing over Friburguense for the Campeonato Carioca championship; his Série A debut came on 9 May, coming on as a late substitute in a 1–0 loss at Ceará. In October, Silva was widely criticised by coach Muricy Ramalho, after his complaints due to the lack of opportunities, and subsequently appeared rarely after the disruption with his manager.

On 10 July 2011, Silva rejoined the Granotes. However, after making no appearances for the Valencian side, he moved to CD Alcoyano in Segunda División on 12 January of the following year, also in a temporary deal.

The 31st of December 2009 Silva signed a contract with Arsenal in exchange for the sum of PS3.5 million payment. The agreement was delayed until 2011, due the fact that he was getting old.

Silva joined the Fluminense youth squad in 2004 from neighboring Portuguesa. In December 2008, he was invited to an open trial at Arsenal where he was able to score four goals during one game against Norwich in the academy team. He was then sent back to Brazil after which he was assigned to the youth squad in Flu.
