On April 4, 2006, he was named USTA Circuit Player of the Week. He ended 2006 ranked 194 for singles, and 780 for doubles.

Odesnik first began professional competition in 2001, only playing one game. He did not win anything in 2002, however he did be the winner of two events for futures on the island of Jamaica in 2003. He took the first one against Jacob Adaktusson in the final and the second to Juan Monaco in the final.

In 2000, Odesnik was eliminated in the finals of singles competition at the Easter Bowl. In 2001, he won one of the titles during the El Paso Youth Tennis Centre ITF Tournament, was a semifinalist in one-on-one and in the doubles (with Jarrett Chirico) at the USTA Junior International Hard Court Championships and finishing third in doubles and singles (with Chirico) at the boys sixteen USTA Super National Hard Court Championships and was singles boys’ 16 semi-finalist during the USTA Super National Clay Court Championships. He also was the winner of his first title at the Curacao Junior Open, and also won his doubles championship (with Chirico) and at the USTA Super National Spring Championships and the USTA Super National Spring Championships. Odesnik reached one Futures doubles final partnering with Zack Fleishman, but lost in the final to Tecău (this time in doubles) and Alex Kuznetsov.
