Warren Capone is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on August 14, 1951 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. Warren Samuel Capone (born August 14 1951) is an ex- professional American football linebacker who played in the World Football League (WFL) and the National Football League (NFL). He played for the college team in the Louisiana State University. Louisiana State University.
While he was an excellent college player, he was not picked for the 1974 NFL Draft because he was thought to be too small for professional football. As opposed to signing a free-agent contract with a team from the National Football League, he chose to join The Birmingham Americans of the World Football League.
In 1975, the Americans were replaced as the Birmingham WFL franchise by a new team called the Birmingham Vulcans. He was the leader of the defense, until the WFL folded in mid-season.
On October 26, 1976, he signed with the New Orleans Saints as a free agent. He returned a fumble for a touchdown during the season. He was released on September 6, 1977.
In 1974, as a rookie, Capone became the Americans center linebacker in the middle, and Capone was well-known for his strong-hitting. The team ended their regular campaign with a 15-5 record and was the first World Football League champions.
