Wang Baoshan is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on April 13, 1963 in Pingyi County, People's Republic of China. Wang Baoshan (Chinese: Wang Bao Shan born on the 13th of April 1963) is a Chinese soccer coach and an ex international player. As a player, he was a part of Shaanxi Province before being one of the very first Chinese players to travel to Japan after joining Otsuka Pharmaceutical. In international competitions, he was a member of China’s Chinese national team in the 1998 AFC Asian Cup
In May 2009, the head coach job at the top of the pyramid team Chengdu Blades became available after their former director Li Bing resigned, under Wang the team’s performance would improve over the season. He was to guide the team to a decent seventh-place finishing. However, despite this success Chengdu Blades were relegated to the second tier prior to the beginning of the league season in 2010 due to match fixing after it was revealed the club was involved in fixing the outcome of a game several years earlier. Wang chose to remain faithful to the club and continued as manager in order to help the club in gaining instant promotion back to the top tier by the conclusion of the league season. Despite this, the club decided they required a new manager and hired Lawrie McKinna to begin the beginning of 2011’s Chinese Super League season. After a long absence of the management Chengdu Blades who had fallen back to second-tier status sought Wang’s help halfway into the China League One season after the former manager Niu Hongli had quit.
On 27 September 2018, Henan Jianye signed Wang to replace Chang Woe-ryong.
Wang was to join a second-tier club in Jiangsu Sainty, however his stay with them was only one season during which Wang was unable to earn the club’s promotion. In November 2005, Wang received his first chance in the top league when Wang was offered the manager position for Shenzhen Jianlibao and led them through the 2006 league season. The time he was as a player at Shenzhen Jianlibao was particularly efficient, he lost the respect of players and was afloat above the point of relegation. Additionally, the club was in debt and couldn’t afford to be relegated that led to Wang was dismissed as manager of the team and succeeded by Xie Feng for the remainder time. Wang was to step back from his position as an Head coach, and instead become an assistant manager job in his Chinese national team, where he was working with Vladimir Petrovic. In June 2008, the Chinese Football Association would sack Petrovic in June of 2008, which led to the National team lacking any Head coach to lead the team into crucial AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. AFC Asian Cup qualification matches as the sole assistant manager with top-of-the-line management experience, there was speculation that Wang was to lead the national team on an interim basis, but Wang was not selected. Chinese FA decided to bring an experienced coach, Yin Tiesheng instead. It was interesting that in July 2008, after being dismissed of Shenzhen Jianlibao the club took the former coach back however this time as an advisor to the technical department.

The time Wang Baoshan was born in Pingyi, Shandong his family moved into Baoji in Shaanxi to watch him move up to the senior squad from Shaanxi Province. Shaanxi province football team in the end of 1980’s Chinese league year. However, for Wang during his first season, He was in the team that finished bottom of the league, and his team were dropped at the conclusion of the season. The time he spent in the second division would help him become a part of the team. By the time he was in the league, he was able to help Shaanxi get promoted back to the top tier. This quickly caught the interest by members of the Chinese National team. In the national team, it was his turn to play in the 1998 AFC Asian Cup and was part of the team that finished fourth at the event. After returning to football, he’d relocate to Japan and join Otsuka Pharmaceutical before he retired.
Wang Baoshan got his break in the management of a club with second-tier soccer club Foshan Fosti during the 1995 league season . He was instrumental in guiding the team to a fifth place finish. Over the following years, the club was led by him to mid-table incompetence until the club was purchased by Xiamen Yuanhua in the middle of the 1998 league season . He was then dismissed at the request of the football club. Wang did not be waiting long to find the opportunity to get a new job. He would be appointed the general manager at another club in the second tier Yunnan Hongta, however he would soon also become manager of the club for a short season before settling on being the team’s junior coach for the following two seasons. The work he did with the youth team was soon to draw the attention to the China U-20 squad and Wang would guide them to 2003’s AFC Youth Championship where the team came in with a disappointing sixth place finishing. Following the event, it was decided that the Chinese Football Association would decide not to renew his contract. Wang was to join another club of second tier football Guangdong Xiongying in the 2003 league season, and lead Guangdong Xiongying to an mid table finish. The following season saw the team make the decision to relocate to Shenzhen and change their name to Shenzhen Kejian, Wang would once again lead the club to a mid-table spot but the club was heavily in debt and was disbanded at the close of the 2004 league season.
In 2013, Wang became the head coach of Chongqing Lifan.
