Pandiani was a player who enjoyed an excellent loan experience at Mallorca while at Depor He was transferred from Depor to Birmingham City in the Premier League and was also on loan in January 2005 following a string of tiffs between his coach Javier Irureta. Born in Montevideo Pandiani began his professional career with the club he grew up in, Progreso before moving into Basanez and Penarol which is also located in the capital city of Uruguay. In December 1999, he signed conditions to join Deportivo La Coruna as a replacement for his fellow countryman Sergio Martinez, and the transfer was officially concluded in January 2000 after signing a five-year agreement for a fee that was not disclosed but he remained in Penarol until the close of the season.
Pandiani was a debutant with the Spanish on August 27, 2000, coming off the bench to replace Diego Tristan in a 2-0 victory against Espanyol at the Estadio Riazor in the Supercopa de Espana return game. Although he was never an absolute starting XI with the Galician team, he was one of their top offensive players, often scoring in substitute roles with 13 goals during the 2003-2004 season.
In his first full season he scored only seven La Liga goals, including a first-half hat-trick against eventual champions Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, but was top scorer in the 2006–07 UEFA Cup with eleven as his club reached the final, which they lost on penalties to Sevilla.
