Wael Hatem El-Hendy (Arabic: wy’l Lhnd born on June 25 of 1981 in Giza) is an experienced squash player who played for Egypt. He is a Professional Squash Association (PSA) member since 1999, Wael El Hindi has been widely considered to be one of the most gifted Egypt players. He first made his name with the USA in 1998, when he reached the finals in the World Junior Championship as a 5/8 seed. The steady progress on the Tour has seen the 28-year-old from Giza who is currently dividing the time in Egypt and England achieved a new career highest rank in the form of World No. 8 in November 2008.

El Hindi began 2007 by winning a second time against higher-seeded Darwish in the process of securing being a semi-finalist in the Canadian Classic in January. He delivered stunning performances in the Kuwait Open and Qatar Classic (in Doha, featuring upsets over Anthony Ricketts and Lee Beachill) that saw him climb four places to earn his first appearance in the top ten of the rankings in May. Then, in July, he was able to held on to the Heliopolis Open crown after overcoming his fellow Egyptians throughout the round: Mohd Anwar Reda, Omar Elborolossy and Mohammed Abbas and finally Karim Darwish to win the championship.
