Bhuiyan was born on January 5, 1965 in Ramgarh Upazila, Khagrachari District. He received his M.S.S degree in Sociology from Chittagong University in 1986.

He also took part during five (1991) as well as the 7th (1996) elections for the parliamentary seat in the role of solely a candidate for BNP however, he was been defeated by relatively narrow margins.

In 2001, he was appointed as a member of the parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, with BNP chairperson and Prime Minister Khaleda Zia heading the committee.

In 9th Jatiyo Sangshad election of 2001, he was again nominated as the candidate of the BNP and elected by a significant margin.

In 1989 He was elected the counselor for the Khagrachari Hill District Council with the majority of a few thousand votes. He was later forced to resign, along with an additional counselor from his position and protested against the chairman, then Samiran Dewan’s corruption allegations. At the sixth Jatiyo Sangshad election in 1996 the candidate was nominated, and was elected as the candidate for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party from Khagrachari constituency.

Wadud Bhuiyan (born 5 January 1965) is a Bangladeshi politician from Bangladesh. The politician was among the very first, and the only Bengali politician elected to parliament from the Chittagong Hill Tracts constituency of Bangladesh. Bhuiyan was twice elected the representative of Jatiyo Sangshad (Bangladesh Parliament) from the Khagrachari constituency on the 7th and the 6th National Parliamentary Elections. In addition, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board from 2002 until 2006. He is currently in the post as assistant employment secretary for the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) as well as the president of the group’s Khagrachari local unit.

Bhuiyan was active in the student political scene during his time at Chittagong University. As the president, he was also the co-convener who was equivalent to the position as president for Chittagong University’s Chittagong University unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal which was the student arm of BNP from 1987 until 1989. He was also the president of the Ramgarh section of the student group from 1980 until 1990.

He is known as the leader of the people with Bengali lineage living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. He was also known for his vocal position to the militant activities of Shanti Bahini, the rebellious military wing of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samiti (PCJSS) that operated until the Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord was signed between the Bangladesh government and the PCJSS in 1997.
