Volen Siderov is one of the most popular and richest Photographer who was born on April 19, 1956 in Yambol, Bulgaria. During the 2003 local elections Siderov ran for mayor of Sofia on the ticket of the marginal National Association-BZNS Party. He received 1,728 votes, or 0.45%. That attempt passed largely unnoticed for the general public.

Following the collapse of Communism, Siderov became a participant in the newly-formed Movement for Human Rights. In the autumn in 1990, he took on the role of an editor in chief of Democracy (Bulgarian: Demokratsiia ) the official newspaper that is published by the Union of Democratic Forces (Siderov played a significant role in the establishment of the newspaper in the role of being the publication official of the conservative political party).
