Vladimir Ducasse (French pronunciation: [vladimiR Dykas[vladimiR dykas]; born on October 15 1987) is a Haitian born American soccer offensive lineman who is an unsigned free agent. He was chosen with the New York Jets in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played in the NCAA football tournament at Massachusetts.
The Jets have released Pro Bowl guard Alan Faneca after they chose Ducasse. Ducasse as well as Matt Slauson, a second-year backup, fought for Faneca’s job in the training camp of that season. In July, Ducasse was accepted to Jets Jets to a 4-year contract valued at $3.25 million, which included an initial signing bonus of just $1 million. Ducasse was a part of two games in his rookie season in 2010 and then assisted the Jets to make it through the playoffs before defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship. As of 2011, Ducasse participated in 16 of the games played and played in one start. The following year, Ducasse again appeared all 16 games as a both right and left tackle.
Ducasse was considered one of the best offensive guard prospects available in the 2010 NFL Draft. He worked out at TEST Sports Clubs in Martinsville, New Jersey in order to prepare himself for the NFL combine. He scored 13 on the Wonderlic intelligence test.
After performing well in training camp, Ducasse earned the starting job at left guard during the 2013 NFL season. However, due to penalties and struggles, Ducasse was benched in favor for rookie Brian Winters. Ducasse played in all 16 games with 4 starts for the 2013 season. He became a free agent for the first time in his career after the season ended.
As a freshmen in the college of UMass, Ducasse saw action in four games as an offensive reserve lineman. In his sophomore season, Ducasse was the starting left tackle. He played in twelve of thirteen games during 2007 and assisted UMass line by only allowing 15 quarterback sacks during his 12 games. In his junior year, Ducasse started all games at left tackle. He was part of an offensive line that allowed only six sacks. This is the most of any team in the Colonial Athletic Association (0.5 per game) and second in the NCAA. Ducasse completed the season with 35 straight starts as a left tackle. In the 35 contests, UMass has allowed just 39 sacks. He also experienced a 100-yard rusher in 23 of the games. He was named an FCS First Team All-American by the Associated Press.

Vladimir Ducasse is the son of Delinois Ducassewho was an accountant at his company, the Banque de la Republique d’Haiti. His mother passed away at the age of 5. There are two brothers older than him, Reginald and Macarthur. He also has two other younger brothers, Jefferey and Jemima. Vladimir and Macarthur made the move from Connecticut around 2002. They be with his uncle and aunt Virginia as well as Lezanord Ducasse while Reginald relocated towards Beijing, China to study computer science in Beijing, China.
