Razzano began her 2010 campaign in her first tournament, the ASB Classic, where she was seeded fifth. She beat Monica Niculescu in the first round, but lost at the end of round two in the second round to Kimiko Date-Krumm. She also lost 3-6 and losing 0-6 to Daniela Hantuchova in the opening round of Sydney. Razzano had been seeded as 18th in the Australian Open, but suffered another shock loss in the first round against Ekaterina Makarova. Her loss led her to drop off the list of top twenty players players in the rankings of world tennis. Another loss in the first round was followed by Paris and she fell in the first round to Patty Schenyder. Razzano continued her winning streak in Dubai in which she was a seeded player but not a top-ranked player she defeated Selima Sfar, in the opening round, but lost to the world’s No. 22 and the in-form Shahar Pe’er at the end of the round. Because she did not defend her points after reaching the final in the previous season, Razzano saw a huge increase in her rankings when she dropped to the world’s No. 39. Razzano was next in action at her next tournament, the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells in which she beat Kristina Barrois during the 2nd round before falling to the 32nd-seed Maria Kirilenko in the third round. Then, at the US Open, she beat Klara Zakopalova, and then defeated the 13th-seed Marion Bartoli, before losing to the former No. 1 Ana Ivanovic in the third round.

At the French Open, Razzano handed the No. 5 seed Serena Williams her first- ever singles first-round defeat in a Grand Slam tournament. Razzano came back from a set and 1–5 down in the second-set tie-break to emerge victorious in three sets. At the time, Razzano was ranked 106 places lower than Williams, who was the favourite for the title entering the tournament. She was up 5–0 in the final set at one point and needed eight match points to close out the match. She lost to Arantxa Rus in the second round in straight sets.

Prior to the French Open’s start, Razzano’s fiancé and former coach Stephane Vidal died of a brain tumor. She elected to play despite her loss, knowing that Vidal encouraged her to participate at Roland Garros. She met 24th-seeded Jarmila Gajdošová in the first round, but lost with a score of 3–6, 1–6.

On September 30, 2007 Razzano was awarded her debut singles crown in Guangzhou. As the No. two seeded player, she beat the first time finalist, 34 -year-old Israeli Tzipora Obziler in order to take the title and be her champion of the 2007 Guangzhou International Women’s Open champion. The following week she won her second career title too, in Asia by beating the former No. 1.
