Annese began his career as a professional head coach in the S.S. Fidelis Andria 1928 youth team (from 2010 until 2012). He was appointed as a coach staff member in the Italian third division in 2012-13 Lega Pro Prima Divisione after which he was promoted to the Foggia Calcio 2013-14 LegaPro Prima Divisione. Since then, Annese was the Head Coach of numerous countries at the Top Level, including Latvia, Estonia, Ghana, Palestine, Indonesia Kosovo and Armenia. He was a coach of technical/tactical aspects of the junior national team (under 14 15, 16, 17 19, 19) in the Football Federation of Armenia.

He earned the certification to become a teacher of physical education in primary secondary school, secondary school, and the university. He taught in the Italian National Olympic Committee in 2013 as well as an instructor at the facility in Molfetta and as a personal trainer.

Under Annese, Bechem United played against MC Alger in the 2017, Africa’s secondary club competition organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In January 2017, the Ghanaian Premier League club Bechem United F.C. appointed Annese as their 2017–18 season Manager.

Annese was determined to follow his father’s footsteps as a former footballer in Molfetta Sportiva and joined the Belenenses youth team. He was 23 when he made the decision to pursue a career as a football coach. He attended at the Higher Institute of Physical Education (ISEF) at the Universita of Foggia degli Studi and then in 2006 he received his second degree from the University of Verona, focussing on the adaptation of sports for disabled individuals. In 2008, Annese was looking to expand his education into the position of coach in football, by combining with the coach GROW model using psychological and motivational methods.
