Viktor Anatoliyovych Skrapnyk (Ukrainian Viktor Anatoliiovich Skripnik born on 19 November , 1969) is an Ukrainian professional footballer who was also the currently the manager of Zorya Luhansk. As as a player, he led Werder Bremen to the league and cup double in 2004.

On the 5th of July, 2018 Skripnik was appointed director of the newly created Latvian Higher League club Riga FC. On the 5th of February, 2019, it was announced that Skripnik was leaving the club.

Skrypnyk was appointed the head manager for Werder Bremen II from June 2013 to 25 October, 2014 at which point he was appointed head coach of Werder Bremen’s first-team Werder Bremen. He had the record of 31, wins and seven draw with nine losses in the reserves team. The first time he played was against Chemnitzer FC at the DFB-Pokal on October 28, 2014. He was dismissed on the 18th September of 2016 as his assistant head coach Torsten Frings.

Prior to playing professionally, between 1987 and 1988 Skrypnyk was a reserve player in the tournaments in the Soviet Top League for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk playing 46 games. In 1987, Skrypnyk also played a in a game with Dnipro during the Soviet Cup.

In 1989, Skrypnyk was signed by the premier Zaporizhia club Metalurh that was a part of the Soviet First League (tier 2) and with whom the start of his professional career was made. The debut of his career was with the Soviet Top League (Vysshaya Liga), Skrypnyk made for FC Metalurh Zaporizhia (Metallurg) in 1991, and made the club’s debut at highest league. He continued to be a part of the Zaporizhia team following the dissolution the Soviet Union when the Metalurh Zaporizhia was admitted to the Vyshcha Liha (Ukrainian Top League) from 1992 to 1994. In the late 1990s, Skrypnyk was back at the club he considered his “home” club in Dnipro for a couple of seasons. In 1995 and 1996 he was part of FC Dnipro when it was managed by Bernd Stange who later recommended Skrypnyk to Werder who was managed by Hans-Jurgen Doerner. At the same time, he began to be selected as a member of the Ukraine national team of football for which Skrypnyk made his debut in 1994. In 1996, he was sold to the German side Werder Bremen for 1.5 million DM to Werder Bremen, the German club Werder Bremen with which he continued for a period of about twenty years (1996-2016). In 1999 and 2000, Skrypnyk was repeatedly injured and was even admitted to hospital, as a result of this he didn’t take part in the club or for the national team. In the 2002-03 season Skrypnyk was again struck by a serious injury, and was able to recover only after the winter break in 2003-04. After the 2003-04 season , aged around 34 years old, the player made the decision to end his career.
