Vesna Zmijanac is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on January 4, 1957 in Nikšić, Nikšić Municipality, Montenegro. Vesna Zmijanac was born on the 4th of January, 1957 Niksic, PR Montenegro, FPR Yugoslavia to father from Sisak, Croatia and mother from Kraljevo, Serbia. The couple divorced after she turned only one year old because they believed the girls were not old enough to get married. In the following years, Zmijanac was raised by her maternal grandmother since her parents traveled abroad for work. Zmijanac got noticed by the singer Saban Saulic when she was a teenager who was living at home in Vienna, Austria. She also credits Esma Redzepova as well as Safet Isovic, who was next to Saulic as major influencers on her singing.

Vesna Zmijanac (Serbian Cyrillic: Vesna Zmijanats ; Serbian pronunciation: [vesna:zmija:natsborn 4 January 1957) is a Montenegrin born Serbian folk- singer. She has sold millions of records and a number of regional tours, she is considered to be one of the more well-known Yugoslavian singers. Zmijanac was renowned for her emotional voice and melancholic ballads. She was often being referred to as”the “Queen of sadness”. Additionally, she was regarded as the sex-symbol , and fashion icon of the eighties.

Zmijanac made her debut single in 1979, and became famous in the eighties when she began performing in popular television films and television shows as a vocalist. Then she released her debut album Ljubi me, ljubi, lepoto moja (Kiss Me Kiss My Beauty, Me) under the PGP-RTS format that saw modest success. Zmijanac had her first success in the year 1985 with “Nevera moja” (My Infidelity) which was written by her husband at the time, Miroljub Arandelovic Kemis. In the following year, the singer released her sixth single Dodi sto Pre (Come as Soon as You Are able) that sold more than 600,000 copies. In the same time, she performed her first tour in the country and was recognized by many as being one of the most significant performers in the former Yugoslavia and only being a competitor against Lepa Brena. Zmijanac was a hit again when she released Jedan si ti (You’re One of a kind) in 1987. Istina (The The Truth) was released in 1988, and is believed to have included a duet featuring the then lesser-known Bosnian musician and singer Dino Merlin, titled “Kad zamirisu jorgovani” (When Lilacs smell). The album was her biggest hit, selling a records-breaking 1 million copies in accordance with Zmijanac. On the 19th of October the next year she gave birth to daughter Nikolija and was she was married to Vladimir Jovanovic, who at time was PGP-RTS’s marketing director.

In 2010, Zmijanac took part in the reality TV series Survivor Srbija VIP: Philippines broadcast on TV Prva alongside her daughter, where she was second contestant to be voted out. Zmijanac also appeared in the seventh season of Farma on RTV Pink in 2016. She eventually walked out from the show, after receiving news about Nikolija being pregnant.
