Fischer was born within her home in the Thuringian municipality of Wolfis (near Gotha). She began her studies in the Hochschule fur Musik Carl Maria von Weber in the year 1968. She also played in various groups, including the Fred- Herfter Combo and in 1969 with the Star-Combo Meissen. In 1973, her debut LP was released by Panta Rhei. Panta Rhei, which was heavily jazz-oriented, with members including Herbert Dreilich, Ed Swillms and Henning Protzmann. She later formed The group Karat. The album’s titles Nachts and Blues were successful in popular parades such as the Beatkiste.
Fischer studied music and graduated through an exam called the Staatsexamen for soloists in music and chanson. The following year, she formed Veronika Fischer & Band. Veronika Fischer and Band. The album Franz Bartzsch (piano, keyboard and singing) was in charge of the majority of arrangements and compositions. On the album Veronika Fischer and Band, singer and guitarist Johannes Biebl also contributed. In 1974 , the blues resurfaced in the final opportunity that was available on numerous compilations. The album that she first released as a solo artist was released in 1975 which also saw her win the first place in The Year’s Parade. The following Amiga albums sold more than 1.5 million copies and made Fischer the most successful artist of her generation in East Germany. From 1979, she was working together alongside Franz Bartzsch. Then, towards the end of the 1970s, she performed with two albums by Reinhard Lakomy’s music with children (the 1978 song’s title, as well as The Traumzauberbaum the album from 1980). In 1979, her child Benjamin became a father.
On her album What’s there, she released in 1993 “Sohn meiner Nachbarin” (“Son of my neighbour”), an adaptation of Dusty Springfield’s 1968 “Son of a Preacher Man”. With Dreamer like us, the version of a song by Renft-Texter Gerulf Pannach, she was seen in 1995 in the ZDF-Hitparade. She sang the children’s music The Child and the Cat and released other albums, including one with children’s songs and a Christmas CD. For some time she has been working with the Berlin text author and writer Gisela Steineckert. This collaboration resulted in new songs and a biography of Veronika Fischer. In the autumn of 2008, she released her 20th album, Unterwegs zu mir.
