Dabaya was a participant in the men’s 69kg category at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships and won the gold medal by grabbing the weight of 146 kg while throwing of 186 kg, for 332 kilograms. The gold medal he won Dabaya became the weightlifting’s 500th World Champion and received the particular IWF Award for this honour.
