On April 2, 2014, Tucapets was appointed, and on May 21, 2014, he became a consecrated member of his Episcopate to become the 1st Archiepiscopal Exarch from the newly established Ukrainian Catholic Archiepiscopal Exarchate of Kharkiv and Titular Bishop for Centuriones. The main ceremony was conducted by Sviatoslav Shevchuk who was the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
After his return from studying in Poland and Poland, he was assigned several pastoral assignment and was as a professor, superior and Rector in the Basilian Institutes in Ukraine. In 2005 and 2014, he was a superior at Kyiv’s Basilian Monastery in Kyiv.

Vasyl Theodore Tuchapets, born into the Tuchapets family. Vasyl Tuchapets and Kateryna (nee Datsko) Tuchapets in Yavoriv in the region in which he was raised. After completing his school education, he went to at the Technical College #14 of Ivano-Frankivsk (1982-1986) in the year 1982 and was assigned mandatory duty in the Soviet Army (1986-1988). He also completed an architectural course at Lviv Polytechnic. Lviv Polytechnic (1988-1990). After the completion of his school, he enrolled in an unofficial theological seminary.
Through all of this, Tuchapets was a secret part of the Order of Saint Basil the Great beginning on the 10th of November, 1986 in which he was ordained on the 6th of October in 1991, and an official ceremony on December 29th in 1996. Tuchapets was ordained a priest on the 12th of July 1997, having completed his theological studies at Pontifical Theological Faculty in Warsaw (1991-1997). After that, he completed his studies by obtaining the licentiate in patrology.
