Vardan Minasyan is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on January 5, 1974 in Yerevan, Armenia. Vardan Minasyan (Armenian: Vardan Minasyan , born on the 5th of January, 1974) is an ex- Armenian footballer who was an attacking midfielder. He is currently the head coach of FC Ararat-Armenia.
Then, in June of 2008 Minasyan had been replaced the head manager for Pyunik in June 2008 by Armen Gyulbudagyants after a loss in the match against Gandzasar Kapan. In the course of the season, Minasyan was the coach of the team to victory in the final against Ararat Yerevan for the 2008 Armenian Premier League title. As of 2009, Pyunik had won his second title in the Armenian Premier League, defeating Mika Yerevan in the 2009 Armenian Premier League finals. In a ceremony held on 22 December Vardan was presented with an extra prize by the organisation Telecom and named the most successful coach in Armenia in 2009.
On 10 February, after the draw for the qualifying round teams of the UEFA Euro 2012, by order of the President of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan, Minasyan will continue to lead the Armenian national squad, only now as the official head coach. Armenian NT in FIFA World Rank was 125th.
In November 2011, Minasyan as head coach of Pyunik, succeeded Suren Chakhalyan Minassian and was also appointed Technical Director of the club. Chakhalyan, in turn, after spending a year in the position, was fired on 8 September 2012 from his post for violating athletic discipline. On the same day, the club officially announced the temporary appointment to the post of Vardan Minasyan.
With Minasyan as the coach, Pyunik won the Armenian Premier League in 2008, 2009 , and 2010 as well as with the Armenian Cup in 2009 and 2010 , and in 2010 and 2009, the Armenian Supercup in 2010 and in 2011. In addition, at the close in the season, the Armenian team, which was coached by Minasyan did better than the earlier matches. With his excellent performances and games, Minasyan received awards from the Football Federation of Armenia, Minasyan was named the top manager of the season. When it came to the final results for the top manager of this season Minasyan unanimously won the first spot.

Minasyan was a player for Minasyan was a member of the Armenia nation’s team. He was a part of 11 international matches since making his first appearance in an away friendlies game against Peru on the 20th of June, 1996.
Minasyan started his career in coaching as the head manager for his Armenia Youth national U-21 team on August 4, 2004. In 2005, he resigned his position and one year later he became an assistant coach at the club where he spent the final few years of his career as a player in Pyunik Yerevan. He also served as an assistant coach to the head Coach Ian Porterfield, along with Englishman Tom Jones, for the Armenia national team. In September 2007, Porterfield died. Minasyan and Jones were appointed the interim Head Coach and Assistant Coach respectively, prior to the close in the calendar year. In the early part of 2008 the new head coach, Danish specialist Jan Poulsen was invited, to join the team. Minasyan returned to his job as assistant coach. In March, Poulsen was fired because of his performance, and Minasyan was again suspended (at at the time) became head coach. Minasyan learned a lot about managing from Samvel Darbinyan as well as Ian Porterfield.
In the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying matches, Minasyan led Armenia to several upset victories over Slovakia, Macedonia and Andorra and a tie against Russia. The team almost made the final draw, but controversially lost in a decisive match against Ireland 1-2. Armenian goalkeeper Roman Berezovsky was given a red card a few minutes after the game began for touching the ball, even though he didn’t and Ireland striker Simon Cox in fact did, as he would later admit. Berezovsky was switched with 19-year-old debuting Arsen Petrosyan. Valeri Aleksanyan later accidentally scored an own goal on Petrosyan, which ended up deciding the match. The Football Federation of Armenia unsuccessfully filed protest over the match. Despite not getting to play in the Euro 2012, Minasyan brought the Armenian national team to a record #41 FIFA ranking and placed the team in third place in the group stage. Minasyan stated he is proud of the entire team. They were all welcomed in the airport back in Armenia as heroes.
