Vangelis Alexandris is one of the most popular and richest Greek basketball coach who was born on February 2, 1951 in Greece. Evangelos “Vangelis” Alexandris (Greek: Euaggelos “Baggeles” Alexandres born on February 2nd 1950) was an Greek pro basketball player as well as a former professional basketball player. While playing his nickname was “The Tiger”.
Alexandris was appointed as the coach in charge of Aris for the second time in the year 2011. Then, he was appointed Head Coach of Panionios in the year 2014. In October of 2015, Alexandris signed a contract with Iraklis Thessaloniki of the Greek A2 (Greek 2nd Division).
A few of the teams Alexandris has coached throughout his career include PAOK, Aris, Olympia Larissa, Maroussi, AEK Athens as well as Gymnastikos A. Larissas. The biggest achievements he has had as a coach throughout his career include having won the Saporta Cup championship with Maroussi in the 2000-01 season and also winning the FIBA EuroCup (later known as the EuroCup Challenge) title during the 2002-03 season when he was the coach of Aris.

Alexandris was a member of the national junior squads of Greece. In Greece’s junior national side they took home the silver medal in the 1970 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship. He also was a part in the seniors’ Greek nation’s basketball squad. The Greek national team’s senior team, he participated in the 1972 Pre-Olympic Tournament, and the EuroBasket 1983.
Alexandris played for Aris, PAOK, and Iraklis in his professional soccer career. He was a professional basketball player. Together with Aris He took home the Greek League championship in 1979. He was the Greek Cup Finals Top Scorer in 1982. With PAOK, he won the Greek Cup in 1984.
In May 2013, Alexandris was hired to coach the senior men’s Jordanian national basketball team. He coached Jordan’s team at the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship.
