In the 2005-06 soccer season, Douglin was a part of Rushall Olympic. He was in the close season as a coach at the US at the Charlton Athletic US Soccer Academy and returned to Rushall in September of 2006. He was a part of Tipton Town later in 2006.

The club released him at the request of Torquay on February 3, 2003. He went on trial with Hereford United. The club later was signed by Worcester City and in February 2004 he joined Bromsgrove Rovers. He was a part of nine games for Rovers and after signing an extension to his contract, he resigned at the beginning of the season following.

Douglin began his professional career as an apprentice at Torquay United, turning professional in July 2000. He made his first-team debut at Gillingham at the Football League Cup in August 2000. He impressed in reserve matches, he got a call from Celtic Manager Martin O’Neill about going to Parkhead for a trial. He was signed by Celtic for a temporary loan deal on October 5, 2000, and was mainly playing for their youth team. On March 1, 2001 Celtic provided Torquay a arrangement where they could only take on Douglin in the event that he could make an appearance at Parkhead without a first payment. The offer was rejected as Douglin was recalled to Plainmoor in April. The following season, he began with a week-long contract at Plainmoor and was weighing on his options and signed a new 2-year contract on September 5.

In 2006 he graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a first class honors degree in Sports Science, following on with a master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham. He joined the Wolverhampton Wanderers medical team in 2008. He returned to the University of Wolverhampton in 2017 as Course Leader for its new Physiotherapy degree, a role he will hold alongside being a part-time physiotherapist for the Wolverhampton Wanderers academy.
