Trevor Taylor is one of the most popular and richest German singer who was born on January 11, 1958 in Montego Bay, Saint James Parish, Jamaica. Trevor Taylor was born in 1958 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. At 14 years old, Taylor visited England for the first time. In addition to music, Trevor was also interested in the kitchen, weight lifting and playing football. Trevor was a real Rastaman and his idol is Bob Marley. In the early days the course of his life, Trevor was a bass guitarist in the British reggae group UB40 as well as an infrequent singer in groups from Seychelles. The year 1978 was the first time Trevor employed as chef at the establishment called the “Holiday Inn” in Birmingham as well as in the Cologne Restaurant “Stummel”.

After the group disbanded, Trevor tried to act in movies and was a part of different musical projects, from reggae to trance. The reggae band Street Noise released the single “Our Problem”, where Trevor Taylor was the leading singer. The year 1991 was the first time Trevor joined the group Temper Temper as a guitarist. For a few years Trevor worked as a producer as well as a vocalist for the German reggae group Umoya who has released six songs and three albums.

He later recorded singles for Mondo Club: a cover version of “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”, and “Sex Up My Life”, which became the soundtrack for the television series “Heiße Tage – Wilde Nächte”. In his later years, Trevor performed a lot with reggae groups Umoya and The Reggae Cracks. He also planned to release his second solo album, Second Life.

In 1987, as they were recording the hit single “Come Back And Stay” Producers Tony Hendrik and Karin van Haaren made the decision to switch the lead singer’s role, and later to change the front-man to John McInerney the new front-man. These changes resulted in tension within the group , which eventually led to the departure of Trevor Taylor, who, despite his best efforts, was not willing to take on his new job. An interesting fact to note is the fact that Trevor Taylor did not leave the group as soon as he made the change. He stayed in the group for the entire year through which he was gradually removed from his role of front-man. The transitional period saw his role as lead singer fell to 60% and later to 20% of the songs that were performed on the 3rd album and 4th albums respectively. This was not an accident as it was the main strategy used for the sake of ensuring the longevity and continuity in their project and to show that the public knew each of Taylor along with McInerney were still part of the group, however, their positions were changed and public was now expected to get used to being able to see Taylor perform behind McInerney. It was only after McInerney made an appearance on enough new tracks as the lead performer, Taylor could finally leave the group. This decision was made possible through contractual obligations set through producers of Bad Boys Blue producers which legally stopped Trevor Taylor from exiting the group prematurely (that means, not before the transition period was over) which meant that the producers were assured that they would have a smooth run of their venture.
